Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg

Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (VBB Berlin-Brandenburg Traffic Association) coordinates the various interests of its members and partners and manages public transport in the area of the Association.

The members are the federal states of Berlin and Brandenburg as well as the 14 rural districts and four district-free towns in Brandenburg. The members are responsible for ordering traffic services, which are rendered by the public transport companies.

Rydies, commissioned by VBB, manages and updates the great number of bike rental locations in the area of the Association and offers its enterprises a log-in for self-made data maintenance on Rydies´ database. Via API data are transferred to the interactive map of VBB and thus made accessible for VBB´s visitors in a reliably up-dated form.

Radstation Hannover

Rydies has digitalised the bicycle station in Hannover and its 700 monitored, paid parking spaces. This makes the processes of parking and retrieval, as well as space management, much more efficient. Best of all, however, is that available spaces are now indicated on the website, with live updates, and soon will even be bookable online.

Lumiguide

Our partner Lumiguide from the Netherlands, THE cycling nation, shows the availability of bicycle parking spaces in real time. These are detected by cameras or sensors – all of course GDPR compliant. Cyclists can use apps or display terminals to navigate straight to a free parking space. Operators can monitor their occupancy and reduce the number of “junk bikes”.

Vaisala

The strength of our Finnish partner Vaisala is in digitalising bicycle lanes in fine detail. Infrastructure operators can use a digital map to easily oversee paths, conditions, signs etc. and coordinate measures. The information is gathered using a special app that runs on a smartphone. Rydies then enriches this data with its own data and utilisation information.
